<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that constitutes a complexed circuit of a chopper circuit and an inverter circuit, reduces the number of components, and is capable of feeding a much larger current to a lamp load efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: This inverter is provided with flywheel diodes 31, 32 connected in anti-parallel to a pair of switching elements 41, 42 that are controlled in such a way as to be conducted alternately. An inductive load 50 is connected to the connection points of the switching elements 41, 42 and those of arm capacitors 61, 62. A smoothing capacitor 60 that crosses the entire circuit is provided. A chopper inductor 21 is connected in series to a rectifier power supply 10 that rectifies an AC power source 11. An auxiliary switching element 22 switches the AC power source 11 via the chopper inductor 21. An auxiliary control circuit 29 controls the auxiliary switching element 22. An electromagnetic energy discharge circuit L21 charges the smoothing capacitor 60 by discharging the electromagnetic energy accumulated in the chopper inductor 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
