<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a beam spot with required shape and quality by enabling to adjust a position for a collimate lens with a simplified configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup device 21 is configured to include a light source 24 for emitting the light to an optical recording medium 22, a collimate lens 26 for making light 23 emitted from the light source parallel rays or near parallel rays, and a lens position adjustment means 30 for adjusting the position of the collimate lens in directions 28, 29 perpendicular to an optical axis 27 which is an axis of light emitted from the light source. The beam spot with the required shape and quality can be formed on the optical recording medium because the collimate lens can be adjusted by the lens adjustment means to an appropriate position for the light emitted from the light source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
