<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass product by which a glass product free of surface tarnish, clouding or cracking can easily be obtained without requiring large-scale equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a glass product includes a step of heat-softening a glass preform and a step of press-forming it with a shaping die. A glass preform having a surface free energy of≥60 mJ/m<SP>2</SP>is subjected to a heat softening step and then to a press-forming step, or a surface layer is formed on a glass preform having surface free energy of≥60 mJ/m<SP>2</SP>and the glass preform is subjected to a heat softening step and a press-forming step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
