PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless terminal device capable of implementing power saving, improvement in transmission quality of application to which real time operation such as voice communication is demanded, and reduction in packet delay, and a wireless communication system using it. SOLUTION: An intermittent reception interval is set for wireless terminal devices 12-1, 12-2 and 12-3, according to an operation mode of an application operating on each wireless terminal device. According to the arrangement, power saving control of the wireless terminal devices can be performed finely, since the intermittent reception interval can be changed for each wireless terminal device in linkage with the operation mode of the application. Moreover, a priority of packet transmission request to be transmitted to a radio base station 11 can be held for the wireless terminal devices 12-1, 12-2 and 12-3. The priority is set according to the operation mode of the application operating on each wireless terminal device.
