PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highlight display control of buttons corresponding to sophisticated high level button operations on a main picture screen by using e.g. a subpicture. SOLUTION: An information recording medium includes video information indicative of a main video, and a subvideo information set. The subvideo information set has (i) subvideo information indicative of a subvideo at least one part of which can be displayed so as to be overlapped on the main video; and (ii) header information which includes button information added to the subvideo information and defining a button video portion functioning as buttons in the subvideo, and also includes highlight information defining how to control highlight display for the button video portion.
