PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate selection of input signals in an input signal selector to connect equipment having a digital audio signal output terminal to an amplifier or the like by selecting it. SOLUTION: The input signal selector has a signal switching circuit 201 to connect one of a plurality of signal input side jacks 101-104 to be connected to the digital audio signal output terminal of the equipment to be selected via an optical cable or a coaxial cable to a signal output side jack 301, and its control means (a micro-computer) 202. Changes of the digital audio signals appearing to the respective signal input side jacks 101-104 are monitored by the control means 202 in time series. The control means 202 controls the signal switching circuit 201 so that the digital audio signals always appearing temporally later are outputted from the signal output side jack 301. And at the same time, when the digital audio signals currently outputted from the signal output side jack 301 are vanished, it is made to return to the preceding output state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
