PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element which can maximize color reproducibility and color rendering properties, when the element is used for an illumination or a display medium, in which the performance in a recent office environment is sufficient and which further presents no ecological problem, and to provide a liquid crystal monitor using the same. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has a maximum light emission in a prime color and a minimum reflectivity at least in the prime color. The liquid crystal monitor, using the electroluminescent element having an auxiliary light source, including a maximum light emission in the prime color. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
