PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a version shifting method for smoothly shifting a version of operational management system while surely continuing driving of a terminal to be managed. SOLUTION: An old version of the operational management system, which consists of nodes to be managed 2a, 2b, and 2c, and an old version of management server 6 for controlling old agents (a), (b) and (c) and performing operational management of the nodes to be managed 2a, 2b and 2c, is provided with a new version of new management server 8, and a new version of new agents a', b' and c' are installed in the nodes to be managed 2a, 2b and 2c. Next, operational management is shifted from the old management server 6 to the new management server 8 every task processed in the nodes to be managed 2a, 2b and 2c. Next, while continuing the operational management of the nodes to be managed 2a, 2b and 2c based on control of the old management server 6, test operational management of the nodes to be managed 2a, 2b and 2c based on control of the new management server 8 is performed. Then, after it is confirmed that the operational management can normally be performed, the old agents (a), (b) and (c) are uninstalled, the old management server 6 is discarded, and the operational management system is shifted to the new version.
