PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic converter manufacturing method capable of facilitating the work for installing a mold shape holding material and capable saving the labor and reducing the cost by automation, and to provide a manufacturing fixture to be used for the same. SOLUTION: This catalytic converter manufacturing method is formed of a holding material installing process for fitting the mold shape holding material 13 in a catalytic carrier 11 by using a guide fixture 20 and a cone fixture 21, and a casing installing process for fitting the catalytic carrier 11, to which the holding material 13 is fitted, in a casing 12 by using a canning fixture 22.
