PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooled-type roll in a furnace, which can stop a rotation of a hollow shaft while adequately keeping a cooling action, even in the furnace at a high temperature, and insure smooth operation of the high-temperature furnace. SOLUTION: In the cooled-type roll 1 in the furnace having the hollow shaft 3, which is rotatably horizontally supported, and is rotated for transporting a material to be treated while the inner surface is cooled by cooling water C supplied to the inside, this roll has a shower pipe 9 arranged inside the hollow shaft 3 so as to supply cooling water C toward an upper inner surface (u) of the hollow shaft.
