摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process of a highly luminous and high-flop aluminum pigment which can give unconventionally high light reflectivity and extremely high flop property, in other words, optical anisotropy, to a coating film made by a common method, a print, a film or the like for various applications. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing process of the aluminum pigment, atomized aluminum powder having an average particle size of 2-20μm is ground in a grinding solvent with a weight ratio of 1.8-30 against the aluminum with a vehicle agitating mill or a ball mill using grinding balls having a specific gravity larger than that of the grinding solvent and not more than 5 and a diameter of not more than 4 mm with the weight ratio of 2-100 against the aluminum. The average particle size, d<SB>50</SB>, is 5-35μm. The ratio of the average particle size, d<SB>50</SB>(μm), to its average thickness, t (μm), is 30-90. The average surface roughness, Ra, is not more than 20 nm. The average height, Rc, of unevenness of its surface roughness curve is not more than 80 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
