PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash box increasing the storage amount thereof by compressing the trash volume. SOLUTION: The trash box comprises a storage container 11 to store the trash, a lid body 12 pivotably supported by an upper end opening part of the storage container 11 in an opening/closing manner, and an opening/closing mechanism 13 to open/close the lid body 12. Since the trash in the storage container is compressed by a pressing weight 16 when closing the lid body, the trash volume is compressed, and the storage amount can be increased by 2.5 to 3 times.
