摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cermet alloy cutting tool having superior cutting performance. SOLUTION: Hard phase titanium is included in the cermet alloy, at least, in a single form of nitride, carbide or carbonitride. The total mass ratio of nitride, carbide and carbonitride of the titanium is not less than 35 mass% and not more than 85 mass% to the mass of the cermet alloy. Tungsten, tantalum, niobium, molybdenum and chrome are included in the cermet alloy in the form of carbide. The mass ratio of the carbide of the tungsten, tantalum, niobium, molybdenum and chrome is not less than 10 mass% and not more than 60 mass% to the mass of the cermet alloy. The saturated magnetic charge (Gauss cm<SP>3</SP>/g) of the cermet alloy is not less than 0.4 time and not more than 0.95 time of a value calculated by ((20×mass% of cobalt)+(6.8×mass% of nickel)).
