A solid phase-supported method for the production of oligonucleotide conjugates (I) involves the reaction of 3'-5'- or 5'-3'-structured oligonucleotide (II), having the terminal hydroxy group provided with a labile protecting group, with a labeling agent (III) which nucleophilically substitutes part of the protecting group.
