<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of developing an image stable in image quantity with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In the color image forming apparatus provided with an image carrier for forming an electrostatic latent image, several developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image, a rotary developing unit switching means for making several developing means individually face the image carrier, the rotary developing unit switching means is provided with a pair of developing unit holding means for holding several developing means, and a drive transmission means which is separately arranged in the pair of developing holding means so as to directly transmit the motive power from a driving source to the pair of developing unit holding means, respectively. Then, the developing units can be stably held parallel to the image carrier with a simple constitution, and the reduction of the cost can be attained, and also, at the assemblage, it is unnecessary to assemble with high accuracy by using a jig etc., then, the assemblage is facilitated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
