<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white light emitting device capable of improving color rendering, reluctant to cause color drift when a blue LED and a phosphor are combined for producing a white light. <P>SOLUTION: A purple LED 19 is fixed by a mount 21 to leadframes 14 and 15 in the cup 17a of a frame 17, and is sealed in a transparent sealing material 26 injected to fill up the cup 17a. The sealing material 26 is added with red, green, and blue phosphors 28-30 that absorb the light emitted by the purple LED 19 and then emit red, green, and blue lights which are different in wavelength from the light it absorbs. The sealing material 26 used in this white color emitting device is further added with a yellow phosphor 31 that absorbs the light emitted by the purple LED 19 and then emits a yellow light that is different in wavelength from the light it absorbs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
