<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an offline diagnosis system that can streamline characteristic acquisition by increasing measuring resolution (number of measuring points), acquiring detailed input/output characteristics and acquiring step response characteristics at a sufficient frequency, without expanding physically limited memory capacity of a field instrument and a host application. <P>SOLUTION: The offline diagnosis system comprises the field instrument for executing process control and having a self-diagnosis function or a valve diagnosis function, and the host application for establishing digital communication with the field instrument, and at an offline phase, executes a self-diagnosis of the field instrument or a diagnosis of a valve and transmits diagnosis results to the host application. A signal input range of the field instrument or valve is divided into a plurality of zones with respect to the time axis or input axis, and diagnosis results of each zone are successively transmitted to the host application. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
