PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system, etc., capable of obtaining a high quality image at a low cost and by a high speed processing. SOLUTION: This imaging system is provided with a block extracting part 12 for extracting a block area of a prescribed size from the video signal of a CCD 4, and a luminance DCT part 14 and a color-difference DCT part 18 for respectively converting a luminance signal and a color difference signal in the extracted block area into a signal in a frequency space. In addition, it is provided with a noise estimating part 20 for estimating the noise amount of a primary or more high frequency components on the basis of zero-th components in a frequency space, a noise reducing part 21 for reducing the high frequency components on the basis of the estimated noise amount, and a compressing part 23 for compressing the zero-th components and the high frequency components with reduced noise.
