PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the excess compression of a rebound spring at a stroke end at an extension side in a cylinder device of a hydraulic buffer and the like. SOLUTION: A piston 3 to which a piston rod 4 is connected is slidably fitted in a cylinder 2 including the oil liquid. The rebound spring 10 is wound on the piston rod 4 with one end fixed to the piston rod 4 by a spring bearing 11, and the other end free, and slidably guided along the piston rod 4 by a spring bearing 13. A rebound stopper 14 is fixed between the spring bearings 11, 13 of the piston rod 4. The spring force of the rebound spring 10 acts with respect to the elongation of the piston rod 4 to buffer the impact at the stroke end. By bringing the spring bearing 13 into contact with the rebound stopper 14, the contact of wire materials caused by the excess compression of the rebound spring 10 can be prevented, and the generation of noise and the damage of the rebound spring 10 can be prevented.
