摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester resin without using an antimony compound or a germanium compound as a polycondensation catalyst, which polyester can give a bottle with a bung part being excellent in dimensional accuracy and having a height which can attain a specified range attained when the antimony compound or the germanium compound is used as the polycondensation catalyst. SOLUTION: The method is one for producing the polyester resin by esterifying a terephthalic acid-based dicarboxylic acid with an ethylene glycol-based diol component and polycondensing the ester in the presence of a titanium compound and a phosphorus compound, wherein the titanium compound is added to the reaction system in the form of an ethylene glycol solution having a titanium atom concentration of 0.01 to 0.3 wt.% and a water concentration of 0.1 to 1 wt.% and the phosphorus compound is added thereto in the form of an ethylene glycol solution having a phosphorus atom concentration of 0.01 to 1 wt.%.
