PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image service providing apparatus for easily providing a image service being a process to be applied to a moving picture photographed by a photographing device. SOLUTION: The image service providing apparatus 20 receives a moving picture file 14 comprising video data 16 and additional data 18 generated by an imaging apparatus 12. The additional data 18 describe image services such as image distribution, media recording, and print. The image service providing apparatus 20 uses a service selection unit 24 to specify an image service type on the basis of the additional data 18 and selects a service changeover device 22 to output the video data 16 to any of a distributor 30, a recorder 32, an image forming apparatus 34, and a video edit unit 28. Thus, the image service providing apparatus 20 easily performs any of the distribution, recording, image forming, and image edit of the moving picture file 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
