PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC motor wherein the amount of adhesive applied is increased and thereby the adhesive strength of magnets is enhanced. SOLUTION: The AC motor is provided with roof tile shaped magnets 3 as field magnets on the rotor 1 side and with an armature on the stator side. The outside diameter of the outer circumferential surface 2a of the rotor body 2 which is a surface mated with the roof tile shaped magnets 3 is made larger than the inside diameter of the inner circumferential surface 3a of the roof tile shaped magnets 3 which is a surface mated with the outer circumferential surface 2a of the rotor body 2. Thus, an adhesive filling space 4 is formed between the outer circumferential surface 2a of the rotor body 2 and the inner circumferential surface 3b of the roof tile shaped magnets 3.
