<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image forming apparatus capable of suppressing both of the disturbance of an image due to the slippage of a recording body on an endless moving body and the disturbance of an image due to the warp of the recording body when it is delivered from the endless moving body to a fixing means without increasing the size of the fixing means even when a both-sided transfer based on a two-step electrostatic transfer system is adopted. <P>SOLUTION: The transfer paper carrying direction of a 2nd intermediate transfer belt 16 which is the endless moving body is set as follows.
