PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus capable of obtaining editing instruction information at the time of photographing. SOLUTION: Moving image photographing is performed while a release switch is half depressed, and the release switch is fully depressed in this state, thereby forming a lead-in mark representing a lead-in representing a start position of a required part of image data to be obtained by moving image photographing. When the release switch is shifted from a deep depressing state to a half depressing state, a lead-out mark representing an end position of the required part of the image data is formed, and the information of the lead-in and lead-out is added to the image data and the data are recorded.
