VITERBI DECODING METHOD, VITERBI DECODER, AND PROGRAM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a processing for determining a trace back starting state at a high rate through a small circuit scale when a convolutional code is subjected to Viterbi decoding. SOLUTION: When path select information of a convolutional code is stored under each transition state and Viterbi decoding is performed by tracing back the stored information by the length of cut-off, starting state of trace back is determined utilizing only a part of a state metric so that a minimum value can be searched readily.
