PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for a foundation pile which enables skin friction to be expected in a foot protection pile, constructed by pile installation by inner excavation, and which is excellent in economy because a wasteful curable material is not infilled into the pile. SOLUTION: An existing pile 11 and a casing 21 which is arranged outside the existing pile 11 are positioned while the ground is excavated by an excavating head 3 at the tip of an excavating rod 2 which is connected to a drive unit 1. After the existing pile 11 and the casing 21 are positioned up to a prescribed depth, the diameter of the excavating head 3 is enlarged, and an end foot-protection part 31a is formed. The diameter of the excavating head 3 is reduced, and a curable filler 42 is injected from the tip of the casing 21 while the excavating rod 2 and the casing 21 outside the existing pile 11 are pulled up. The injection of a curable filler 41 is stopped at a required height inside the existing pile 11. The foundation pile, whose end foot-protection part 31a is provided in the ground and whose periphery is provided with a cured layer 42a of soil cement, is formed by the completion of the pull-up of the excavating rod 2 and the casing 21.
