The base plate (2) for a sanitary installation has a raised tower section to receive a shelf frame tube (3). The underside of the base plate has a groove (5) to receive a support or anchor strip to which the base plate is attached by fasteners. The base plate can have a threaded hole (6) to receive a clamping screw for the strip. The top of the tower section can have a threaded sleeve to receive a fastener.
