PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording tape cartridge which can suppress wobbling in rotating a reel of a braking member which blocks the rotation of the reel when out-of-use. SOLUTION: For the recording tape cartridge 10, the reel 14 wound and loaded with a magnetic tape T and held in a housing 12 is made into a rotation locked state by the state that a braking member 74 which is rotation disabled by engagement with a cross rib 84 of the housing 12, is engaged by a gear tooth 72A of a latch projection 72. When the braking member 74 moves to an axial direction and reaches to a release position which estranges from the latch projection 72, the engagement state is canceled and becomes rotatable against the housing 12. Then, an annular convex section 82 of the braking member 74 is located in outward of an external perimeter 96A of annular slopes rib 96 of the housing 12 in contactable, and the movement in the direction of radial direction of the braking member 74 and the direction of estrangement from the reel 14 is regulated.
