PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a transport robot which automatically makes turns at corners and continues to pursue an object to be pursued, even when it loses the object concerned, because an operator has turned at the corner. SOLUTION: The transport robot recognizes and pursues a transporter, while it keeps a prescribed distance. In addition, the transport robot is provided with a detecting means which is provided around the transport robot and detects the transporter and an obstacle existing in the surroundings, a travelling means, and a traveliing control part which controls the travelling means. The traveliing control part recognizes and pursues the transporter with the detecting means, and controls the travelling means so that the travelling means makes a turn at the corner, when the travelling control part recognizes that there is the corner near a place, where a detecting part cannot recognize the transporter.
