PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce processing in a client device by transmitting a structured document with structure information added to the client device. SOLUTION: A data delivery device analyzes a structured document, and transmits the document with structure information about the document added as a header. The receiving client device can know whether the structured document is invalid before analysis to thus omit unnecessary analysis processing. Even if the reception is interrupted, reference to the structure information can determine whether a request for retransmission of the unreceived part should be made or not. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
