PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic gusset bag of self-standing stability which is improved in display effect, excellent in carrying efficiency in transport, free from any pin holes or breakage, flexible, easy to handle, and excellent in design property, and a method for manufacturing the bag. SOLUTION: The gusset bag comprises two rectangular plastic films and two V-shaped plastic films, and has side seal portions at four corners by thermally bonding end portions thereof. Each rectangular plastic film portion continuously extends from tips of the four side seal portions of the bag outward of the bag. Two reinforcement walls are formed on side surfaces of the bag by thermally bonding the two rectangular plastic film portions at ends thereof for each side surface to obtain the plastic gusset bag of excellent self-standing stability. A relatively simple manufacturing method is obtained by utilizing a device for manufacturing a conventional gusset bag. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
