The material (3) is guided from the drum to the cutting unit (4) and from there to several machining stations (6, 13) arranged in order to process the edges of the bands (2) simultaneously. Each band (2) is controlled by two brake units (8) regarding the individual pulling conditions. The number of machining stations (13) and brake units (8) can be adjusted to the amount of bands (2) to be cut from the material (3) provided. All bands (2) are wound up (5, 15) simultaneously when the machining process is completed.
