Handling device for storage/retrieval of motor vehicle tires has carriers each for four upright tires, and extractable ramps to roll tires into/out of carriers

The handling device is used in a shelved storage system. It has carriers (11,12) for at least four upright tires (14,15) each, and ramps (18,19), moving in and out, to move the tires into the carriers. The device also has seats (20) for the forks of a forklift truck, and wheels. The width of each ramp corresponds approx. to the width of two neighboring upright tires. At least one carrier has devices with conveyor chains supporting the tires, or slides to move tires into storage position.
