PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition having improved elasticity compared with conventional rubber composition while preventing the lowering of the puncture resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is produced by compounding at least one kind of rubber component selected from natural rubber and synthetic diene rubber with a phenolic resin expressed by formula (I) (R<SP>0</SP>is H, an alkyl, phenyl or methylol; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each an arylene, a 2-10C alkylene and aralkylene, a cycloalkenylene or a cycloalkadienylene; and (n) is 0-10).
