A method by which particles of a poly-3-hydroxyalkanoic acid are coagulated to increase the particle size. The method of coagulating a poly-3-hydroxyalkano ic acid comprises suspending poly-3-hydroxyalkanoic acid particles in a hydrophilic solvent or a liquid mixture of water and a hydrophilic solvent a nd stirring the suspension at a temperature not higher than the boiling point o f the suspension.
