<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for correcting misregistration of ink dot well in bidirectional printing where the platen gap is adjustable. <P>SOLUTION: The platen gap, i.e. the gap between a print head and a platen, is adjustable to a plurality of values. Different misregistration correction values δG1 and δG2 for a plurality of platen gap values PG1 and PG2 are stored in an EEPROM 200 as the misregistration correction values of ink dot in bidirectional printing. A misregistration correcting section 212 selects a misregistration correction value based at least on the platen gap value and corrects misregistration of ink dot in bidirectional printing using the selected misregistration correction value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
