PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying a molten resin which prevents the deterioration of a resin due to burning, adjusts the viscosity of the molten resin, prevents optical distortion, and uses the molten resin efficiently. SOLUTION: An apparatus is constituted of a cylinder (1) and a spatula part (12). A piston is set in the cylinder (1), and a needle (15) is attached to the opening (14) of the spatula part (12). The molten resin melted by a plastification apparatus not shown in a figure is stored in the cylinder (1). The piston (2) is driven to extrude the molten resin from the opening (14) of the spatula part (12) onto an application surface. While the spatula part (12) is moved at a prescribed speed with a prescribed distance from the application surface kept, the molten resin is applied on the application surface. The temperature and flow rate of the molten resin in the cylinder (1) are adjusted, and the opening is adjusted by the needle (15).
