PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve error correction capability for burst noise in a disk drive which employs a data decoding system combining a PR system and a turbo encoding/repeated decoding system. SOLUTION: A read channel which uses a turbo encoding/repeated decoding system is disclosed. The read channel is provided with a repetition decoder 35 including an APP decoder for changing a likelihood calculation equation so as to remove burst errors in accordance with the detection result of a burst noise detector 34, and executing an inner code APP decoding operation.
