PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of spherical powder using plasma by which spherical powder of fixed size can be manufactured. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the spherical powder, a raw material formed into a wire is cut at a regular interval to prepare raw-material pieces and then an agglomerate of the raw-material pieces is introduced into a plasma flame in which elongation of a tail area is suppressed to undergo melting and spheroidization. It is preferable that the inside diameter of a plasma torch in a position on the outer periphery of the tail area of the plasma flame or the inside diameter of a chamber is≥4 times the inside diameter of the plasma torch in a plasma generation part. Further, it is preferable that the ambient pressure of plasma ranges from 0.04 MPa to atmospheric pressure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
