PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent for vehicles which can be easily rinsed with tap water, even when washing the surface of vehicles under summer conditions, etc., shows a good foaming property and detergency and causes no damage to coating films on the surface of the vehicles, and the detergent for vehicles excellent in such properties related to vehicle washing which can be used as a water-repellent detergent and/or a water stain-removing detergent. SOLUTION: The detergent for vehicles comprises at least one detergent component chosen from the group consisting of an amphoteric surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant and a sequestering agent and an aqueous medium and further comprises sugars and/or derivatives of sugars other than their dehydrates. If required, the vehicle detergent can contain a water-repellent component and/or an abrasive to be used as the water-repellent detergent and/or the water stain-removing detergent.
