PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer in which accident can be lessened when a loaded tape cartridge is replaced and stored for reuse, and to provide its tape processing method and program, and a recording medium. SOLUTION: The tape printer having a tape loading section loaded with a tape cartridge containing a tape becoming a print object and printing on the tape while feeding it from the tape cartridge comprises a means (a control section 200, a driving section 270 and a tape feeding section 120) for feeding the tape by a specified length when turn-off power is designated automatically or manually, and a means (the control section 200) for turning power off after the tape is fed by the specified length.
