PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main spindle feed device having a constitution accurately setting the moving distance of a shaft, or a feed object, and preventing the increase in cost by reducing the number of components for use in the setting of the moving distance. SOLUTION: This main spindle feed device is provided with an auxiliary shaft 7 disposed in parallel with the main spindle 6, a nut gear 8 provided in the main spindle and having a female screw fitted with a screw 6A formed in the outer circumferential surface of the main spindle in its inner circumferential surface, a feed gear 9 having the number of teeth capable of setting a prescribed reduction ratio with the nut gear 8, disconnecting/connecting the driving force relative to the nut gear 8 and being used in crawl of the main spindle 6, and a feed setting gear 10 provided in the auxiliary shaft 7 and selecting either of a state geared with only the nut gear 8 or a state geared with the both gears by moving in the axial direction. The feed setting gear 10 is provided with a gear width geared with the both bears positioned in the side of the main spindle 6 and fixes the nut gear 8 with its geared with the nut gear 8 by engaging a fitting part 7A formed in the auxiliary shaft 7 with a lock part 11A provided in a journal part 11 of the auxiliary shaft 7 in a process of moving in the axial direction.
