The invention concerns a achromatic and absorption reducing light collecting system, particularly adapted to optical spectrometric analysis. Said system collects light emitted by at least one light source (52) and focuses same on at least one light detecting device (54). It comprises preferably a first mirror (58) which collects light emitted by the source and focuses same on a second mirror (60) which in turn focuses it on the device. The system is equipped with a chamber which is opaque to any type of light, in particular to ultraviolet rays, and wherein are placed the light source, the light detecting device and the mirrors, and means for creating a vacuum in said chamber or for filling it with a gas which is transparent to ultraviolet rays.
