The apparatus includes an MP3 player (1) with a digital processor. This is connected to a keyboard for inputting commands and to a radio transmitter and receiver module (2).The apparatus also has a digital home apparatus (3) having a second radio transceiver module (4) connected to a control switch which can control switching the power on and off and the volume and the tuning. The digital processor of the MP3 player can send the input commands via the first and second transceiver modules to the control circuit. This controls the home device accordingly. The digital audio signals of the home device can be transmitted via the second transceiver module to the first. The digital signal processor of the MP3 player converts the analog audio signal and transmits the converted signal to an ear piece for the user.
