METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDING COMPOSED OF STARCH OR STARCH DERIVATIVE AND MOLDING COMPOSED OF STARCH OR STARCH DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a molding from starch or a starch derivative.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the molding comprises mixing a raw material containing the starch or the starch derivative with water, subjecting the mixture to pressure forming or extrusion molding at the gelatinization temperature of the starch or the starch derivative to be mixed or above into a fixed shape, irradiating the molding with ionizing radiation and crosslinking the molecules of the starch or the starch derivative to each other. To be concrete, preferably the mixture is subjected to the pressure forming or extrusion molding while heating at ≥55-65°C being the gelatinization temperature of the starch or the starch derivative and ≤100°C and then irradiated with the ionizing radiation having ≥1kGy and <200 kGy irradiation dose.
