PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various kinds of services and a settlement method by efficiently and accurately managing the storage and retrieval of articles.

SOLUTION: This proxy service managing method and system executes a step of receiving storage information including certification information for a storage processor accompanying the storage of the articles and attribute information for a proxy service providing device from the proxy service providing device connected to a computer via a network and having storage spaces for proxy service objective articles, a step of collating the storage information to a processor table coordinating the storage information with a retrieval processor and recognizing the retrieval processor, and a step of notifying a terminal of the recognized retrieval processor of retrieval instruction information or instruction information for service proxy for the stored articles.
