PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent impedance from being largely degraded even if an ultra-compact crystal diaphragm is employed, and to minimize a change in oscillation frequency by an ambient temperature, so as to both downsize a crystal oscillator and ensure its operation reliability. SOLUTION: The crystal diaphragm 3 with a longer side size of 2.2 mm or less and a shorter side size of 1.5 mm or less is employed. A value of 150μW or less is set as driving power. An oscillation circuit 5 and an output circuit 6 are structured so that power is supplied respectively from separate power sources 55 and 62. Thus, the power supplied to the output circuit 6 is specified to be 300μW and the power supplied to the oscillation circuit 5 is specified to be 150μW. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
