METHOD OF PRODUCING BUTENE OLIGOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to selectively increase the yield of a butene oligomer with a specified boiling point range (e.g. at least 200°C and less than 280°C) in the production of a butene oligomer by polymerizing butene in the presence of an acid catalyst. SOLUTION: The method of producing the butene oligomer comprises (1) a process of polymerizing butene in the presence of the acid catalyst (the first polymerization reaction), (2) a process of separating the unreacted C4fraction from the polymerization product by distillation and (3) a process of further polymerizing the whole or a part of the polymerization product remained after the separation of the unreacted butene in another polymerization reactor in the presence of an acid catalyst (the second polymerization reaction).
