PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing an ether by telomerization between a conjugated diene compound and a corresponding alcohol. SOLUTION: This method for producing the ether comprises carrying out the telomerization reaction between the conjugated diene compound and the corresponding alcohol in the presence of a group 10 metal complex composed of a group 10 metal compound and a neutral high electron-donating ligand and a base of formula(I)(wherein, respective symbols are as defined in the Specification).
