PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the problem that a conventional steam generator presses the opening of a tank to a base board to keep a hermetic state so that steam may not escape from the inside of the tank, however, since it is performed simply by the clamping of screws to make a poor sealing degree depending on the clamping degree of an operator, steam may escape from the sealed part, or the tank (generally, a glass container is used) may be broken by overclamping. SOLUTION: This steam generator is constituted in such a manner that the tank 7 is arranged at the lower part, and a control circuit 3i for controlling the temperature of hot water in the tank is housed at the upper part. Then, for the steam generator, a part in which the control circuit is housed and the tank are separated by a partitioning wall 3b, and a hot air purging hole 3e communicating with the outside is formed along the partitioning wall.
